Fluid Art, is also called Pouring Art or Acrylic Pouring. It is fun and can be accessible to all ages. Children will be introduced to the wonder of fluid art where they can create beautiful, colourful pieces of artwork. In this class we will do two fluid art paintings using a hairdryer, called a Dutch Pour. One will be on a small canvas or canvas board (consider this a practice) and then one on either a 30x30cm OR 30x40cm gallery wrapped canvas.

NO painting experience is needed.

This class is for children 6 years to 14 years. Parents / carers may stay as observers or helpers, but this is not required, unless your child needs individualised support. (Please let us know if you want to stay in the checkout comments, we have limited places for additional adults and need to manage social distancing and seating). If your child is not able to follow instruction or needs more support than 1 staff to 8 children can provide, then please discuss with Julie prior to booking.

Note that fluid art paintings cannot be take home on the day, they need to dry flat and can be collected after 3 days drying time. All instruction, support and materials are supplied.

Participants will learn:

  • How to make paint fluid
  • How to work with fluid paint
  • How to mix paints and paint mediums suitable for the fluid art technique we do

Participants are provided with:

  • All supplies provided including canvases, paint, pouring medium, cups, gloves, plastic apron and tools.
  • Drinking water

We use acrylic paint that is non toxic. Remember to wear old clothes as it can be a messy business, and whilst the paint and mediums will wash out if you get to it quickly, that is not always easy to do.
