Today’s fluid art technique is a ribbon pour where we layer cups with different coloured paint and apply in ribbons on the canvas. You can do a multi coloured rainbow pour, or any variation of colour you like.

After some demonstrations and explanation, you will paint your masterpiece on a 40.6 x 50.8 cm (16 x 20 inch) gallery wrapped canvas or similar which you can collect after 3-4 days drying time (or arrange to have sent to you). All instruction, support and materials are supplied.

NOTE: This is a good painting to do on a larger canvas. If you would like to paint this on a larger canvas, there is the alternate option to paint on a quality 20 x 48 inch (1.5 inch profile) quality canvas for an additional $50 or an 18 X 24 inch thin edge canvas for an additional $20. You need to let Julie know if you are interested in this option prior to the class by email or phone to ensure the canvas is available. Payment can be made by cash in the class or by credit card over the phone prior to class if you choose to upgrade.

You will learn:

• How to prepare your canvas
• How to mix paints and paint mediums suitable for this technique
• Pouring mediums and recipes that are good for this technique and what difference this makes.
• How to choose colours and layer your paints in the cup.

All supplies provided including canvases, paint, pouring medium, cups, gloves, apron and tools. We provide plenty of space, with a maximum of 8 participants.

Light refreshments (tea, coffee) provided. This is a ‘Paint and Sip’ event, so you are welcome to BYO drinks and nibbles. We provide glasses and plates.

We use acrylic paint that is non toxic. Remember to wear old clothes as it can be a messy business, and whilst the paint and mediums will wash out if you get to it quickly, that is not always easy to do.

NOTICE RE COVID RESTRICTIONS – The space is assessed as suitable to hold up to 12 people, but class maximums will be 8 students. All participants will have their own desk. As per government regulations, you must be fully vaccinated for COVID 19 (and be able to provide evidence of this). Make sure you’ve added your COVID-19 vaccination digital certificate to the Service Vic app or have an alternative form of vaccination status to enable checking.

Do not attend the class if you have or are a close primary contact of anyone with COVID-19, or if you are experiencing fever, chills or sweat, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose of have a loss of taste or smell. (A full refund will be provided if you are unwell).
