CHILDREN’S FLUID ART – SCHOOL HOLIDAY WORKSHOP

July 3 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Fluid Art, is also called Pouring Art or Acrylic Pouring. It is fun and can be accessible to all ages. Children will be introduced to the wonder of fluid art where they can create beautiful, colourful pieces of artwork. In this class we will do one fluid art painting on 30x40cm back stapled wrapped canvas (or similar) OR two smaller canvases.

Styles and activities will vary, but you will be assured of great art projects each session.  For 3rd July we will do a Swipe, or if someone has not previously used the hairdryer, that will be available too.

NO painting experience is needed.

This class is for children 6 years to 14 years. Parents / carers may stay as participants, observers or helpers, but this is not required, unless your child needs individualised support. (Please let us know if you want to stay as a helper in the checkout comments as we have limited places for additional non participants and need to manage social distancing and seating). If your child is not able to follow instruction or needs more support than 1 staff to 8 children can provide, then please discuss with Julie prior to booking.

One adult (per child) is welcome to stay along with their child and also create art. Some Parents, Aunties and Grandparents have previously asked to stay and paint, and their child really enjoyed this experience of doing art together. Just book another ticket for the adult (The tickets are all the same).

Note that fluid art paintings cannot be taken home on the day, they need to dry flat and can be collected after 3 days drying time. All instruction, support and materials are supplied.

Participants will learn:

  • How to make paint fluid
  • How to work with fluid paint in a range of different styles
  • How to mix paints and paint mediums suitable for the fluid art technique we do

Participants are provided with:

  • All supplies provided including canvases, paint, pouring medium, cups, gloves, plastic apron and tools.
  • Drinking water

Participants will create

  • One (or more) canvas which can be collected after 3 days drying time

We use acrylic paint that is non toxic. Remember to wear old clothes as it can be a messy business, and whilst the paint and mediums will wash out if you get to it quickly, that is not always easy to do.
