Looking for a creative and engaging workshop for your kids these school holidays? Look no further! This 3 hour workshop includes fun and exciting paper craft, jewellery making and painting. Children will learn about collage, fluid art and jewellery making while exploring their artistic talents.

Under the guidance of experienced teacher Julie, your kids will get to create their own painted papers suitable for collage. They will then use these papers, along with magazines or objects, to design and create unique collage art on a canvas board. Through cutting, pasting, and design, they’ll develop their fine motor skills and unleash their creativity.

But that’s not all! Your little artists will also have the opportunity to make colorful jewellery or a keychain using acrylic skins. Whether they choose to use the materials provided by the teacher or have created their own in a previous fluid art class, they’ll have a blast designing and crafting their own wearable art.

And to add an extra touch of magic, each child will get to experience the fascinating world of fluid art. With no brushes required, they’ll learn the technique of pouring paint to create stunning paintings. Please note that these paintings will need to lie flat to dry and can be picked up from the studio in 1 to 3 days’ time.

This class is for children 6 years to 15 years. Parents / carers may stay as participants, observers or helpers, but this is not required, unless your child needs individualised support. (Please let us know if you want to stay as a helper in the checkout comments as we have limited places for additional non participants and need to manage social distancing and seating). If your child is not able to follow instruction or needs more support than 1 staff to 8 children can provide, then please discuss with Julie prior to booking.

Note that fluid art paintings cannot be taken home on the day, they need to dry flat and can be collected after 3 days drying time. All instruction, support and materials are supplied.

Participants will learn:

  • How to used dried acrylic painting scraps to make jewellery
  • How to create patterns on paper
  • How to create a collage
  • How to make paint fluid and work with fluid paint
  • How to mix paints and paint mediums suitable for the fluid art technique we do

Participants are provided with:

  • All supplies provided including canvases, paint, pouring medium, cups, gloves, plastic apron and tools.
  • Drinking water

Participants will create:

  • multiple decorative papers
  • One Collage on canvas board
  • One piece of jewellery
  • One painted canvas which can be collected after 3 days drying time

What to bring:

  • Please have your child bring a (nut free) snack and and drinks to have during the breaks, or a light lunch. Drinking water will be provided.

We use acrylic paint that is non toxic. Remember to wear old clothes as it can be a messy business, and whilst the paint and mediums will wash out if you get to it quickly, that is not always easy to do.
