CHILDREN’S ACRYLIC PRINTING (NEW) – SCHOOL HOLIDAY WORKSHOP
In this NEW exciting and fun workshop, children will learn to print in many different ways using acrylic paint. Activities are can be accessible to all ages, with activities matched to children’s ages. (Older children can do more complex process / activities)
Layered Botanical Print Painting: We will create a ‘print painting’ on a small 20 x 20 cm canvas using leaves which we will layer on top of each other.
Printing with Objects: We will print onto paper using household objects and maybe even some fruit.
Printing using a gelli plate / and or silicone mat: Children will be introduced to the wonder of gelli plate / silicone mat, where we create our print by rolling paint onto the surface and using objects or ‘masks’ to create patterns – building up our creation in reverse and printing onto paper.
NO painting experience is needed.Â
This class is for children 6 years to 16 years. Parents / carers may stay as participants, observers or helpers, but this is not required, unless your child needs individualised support. (Please let us know if you want to stay as a helper in the checkout comments as we have limited places for additional non participants and need to manage social distancing and seating). If your child is not able to follow instruction or needs more support than 1 staff to 8 children can provide, then please discuss with Julie prior to booking.
All art will be able to be taken home after the class.
Participants will learn:
- How to print using acrylic paint
- How to print with leaves and objects
- Introduction to use a brayer (roller) and gelli plate
Participants are provided with:
- All supplies provided including canvases, paper, paint, gloves, plastic apron and tools.
- Drinking water
Participants will create
- One canvas and multiple paper art works.
We use acrylic paint that is non toxic. Remember to wear old clothes as it can be a messy business, and whilst the paint and mediums will wash out if you get to it quickly, that is not always easy to do.
